Counter Stool
The Bernhardt 24-Inch British Passages Edwardian Counter Stool is inspired by 19th century English "Campaign" furniture with a hint of the West Indies influence. Style elements include a brass stretcher footrest with galvanized steel finish, stitched leather upholstery on the contoured seat and backrest, nickel nail head trim, and caning.
This traditional counter stool features a durable and beautiful frame comprised of broken ribbon stripe mahogany, flat cut mahogany and figured notre crotch veneers. All this is protected with a two-stage finish of rich Ginger Brown finish accented by Black Tea.

The counter stool arrived 1 day before estimated delivery date in a large, well-packed carton. No assembly was necessary. I removed the small rounded plastic nubs from the feet, and replaced them with self-stick felt pads so the wood floor in my kitchen wouldn't get scratched. The stool is comfortable and very study, and the low-profile back doesn't block the view into the room, and is also convenient if you sit sideways on the stool, as it acts as an arm rest. I originally purchased 2 stools, and found that they were the preferred seating in my kitchen/great room, so I ordered one more.

While the seat of this stool is comfortable, the back rest isn't the most ideal to lean against. However, if you use it as an arm rest, it's nice. I bought one stool to make sure I liked the look, quality and comfort. I was so pleased, I didn't waste any time ordering four more for my kitchen island. It is a very smart looking stool overall and will work nicely in my transitional space. I appreciate how sturdy and substantial this stool is without being obtrusive.
Finally, when I ordered the stool, I was given an expected ship/delivery date. I was extremely pleased when it arrived seven days early! I am a very happy Hayneedle customer.

These counter stools are perfect for a kitchen island. We loved the unique look of them thru the pictures and also knew the Bernhardt brand was 100% quality. In addition, we are Hayneedle customers and have always had a good experience with this company. [...] The counter stools are as sturdy as they look and the leather is of high quality (each counter stool came in a package that weighed 30 lbs to give you an idea of their sturdiness). In the end, these are high quality counter stools that really provide a unique look for our kitchen. Highly recommend these to anyone.
