Great quality and style for the price. They come in a compact box and only take 3-4 steps to assemble. They are quite lite. They support your lower back well. I like that they are adjustable from below counter height to bar height though be warned that I have had similar adjustable chairs where the piston eventually fails. ...but you get what you pay for and value was import in my decision to buy. One of my chairs does squeak.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We use these at our kitchen island. The slick looks of these stools look great against our red glass faced/topped cabinetry. They were extremely easy to assemble. It actually took me longer to unwrap them than it did to assemble them.
